ever tried with vsinc off? because i think it will work in both ways. if you have a performance or lag peak it will try to raise or hold your FPS and that can also be a reason for the freeze.
i always played with vsync off, the reason i posted it saying i had it turned on because it seemed to stop crashing, for the moment
All it does is keep the graphics card to synchronized to the monitor refresh rate. The problem is: if at any time your FPS falls just below your refresh rate, each frame starts taking your graphics card longer to draw than the time it takes for your monitor to refresh itself. So every 2nd refresh, your graphics card just misses completing a new whole frame in time. This means that both its primary and secondary frame buffers are filled, it has nowhere to put any new information, so it has to sit idle and wait for the next refresh to come around before it can unload its recently completed frame, and start work on a new one in the newly cleared secondary buffer. This results in exactly half the framerate of the refresh rate whenever your FPS falls below the refresh rate.
If I were you if you don't get screen tearing in games leave vsync off (as there will be no input lag) if you do put it on also turn of triple buffering if the game supports it as this will help stop fps drops
(of course this is general, not about fixing the problems in this thread which it might do, who knows with BF4's coding)
Quick test seems to suggest that enabling v-sync works. As soon as I try to Alt-Tab to another app it dies - only happens with BF4 (switching between folders and apps without BF4 running is fine). There definitely seems to be some issues here but at least I can play (so far) without crashing.

im not finding the vsync stuff i know what it means and what it is but i dont find a point where to change it maybe it has a stupid german name i dont understand cause my game is german ^^

Well I am not shitting around when I tell you chip junior went out & bought bf4 for pc a few days ago & I just laughed cos he's playing on a pc that's not been upgraded in probably 2-3 years, its got a gtx 460 gfx card I think, but it runs absolutely fine no trouble at all, he even had settings on high so I suggested he might be better with everything on medium!!!

i rather want to use my 144hz monitor than having 40 fps even with a gtx660ti ^^(it can still compete with the most outcoming graphicscards (not with the high end ones )).. to be honest its just a lot easier to see enemies with low texture details

Same here, i could use High/Ultra but i use medium. I prefer high fps middle of all action and effect spam and easier spotting of enemies, mines etc over Ultra/High war porn experience.
before finding my temporary solution to stop the crashing i updated punkbuster and found out i was 2 versions behind the latest, seriously this game is so broken sometimes! how the hell can i be allowed to play with outdated cheat protection (when i updated it, i still crashed anyway.)
and since this is the moaning topic, i can't play sniper with vsync on as i run a solid 60 without using the scope but as soon as i go scope it drops down to 40s and starts lagging. waaaaaaah :lee:

what's the general feeling about second assault?? I haven't got premium & I never will have, so will have to wait until they are released to the general public but are they worth getting excited about??
My only thought so far is its fucking annoying when I'm on a server & a second assault map comes on so I get kicked out..

Caspian plays slightly different now with the massive wall..but is still tons of fun
Was never a real fan of Firestorm but its still the same
Omhan gets a fuckign sandstorm about 5 mins into the game making visibiltiy worse than bf2 was with the fog on kark / bluepearl

My opinion to the maps:
Metro doesnt work at all
its even worse baserape clusterfuck than bf3 metro was i like the caspian wall and the whole map it has a cool atmosphere
golf of oman was always a bad map to me ... i could like the map though in this game without sandstorms
and firestorm is better than in bf3 i think
its quite cool - atack helis are way worse and jets.... infantry has it way easier to survive than in the old firestorm
