We live in a smallish village just outside of a town and it is a good compromise. You can hear cows mooing and the smell of ripe manure on really special days. Wife would like a nice remote house miles from anywhere (then I remind her that it would be shite internet and no Netflix or the games that see plays).

Anyway desk and PC are in place. How long it will remain that tidy is the question. Like the monitor arm as it gives more room on the desk. The desk top is too big so will be making a new one from plywood and shaping it. Running Ethernet cables and setting up switches has been fun and still need to get the cables into the server room (garage). Was weird but fun playing BF after a few days break.

Still have the floor to do once we get decide on the colour.

<searches for way to stop laka posting to this thread> Just jealous. Mainly because not being able to walk like that but also looks such a nice place. Apparently we are Antonine walling tomorrow. Will be a nice change from white paint and decorating stuff.

Another day, another book for my thesis. Today something more interesting and funny written:

The Antonine Wall was built a few hundred years after Hadrian's effort but very little remains of it. The only ruins are this bath house and the rest of it is just grassy mounds. It starts on the bank of the Forth (near where we live) and crosses Scotland and ends roughly where the last pictures where taken between the Forth-Clyde canal and the banks of the Clyde. The bridge is the Erskine Bridge.

Came across the biggest snake I’ve seen in the forrest we have close to where we live; it was so quick i didn’t get my phone up in time to take a pic but saw that it was clearly a grass snake and at least one meter in length 😱. Stock photo below shows exactly what it looked like and I was pleased the dog stayed perfectly calm - something my wife won’t be when I tell her about the encounter (” ooooh, my poor little dog, it could have...😅)

Long time since I have seen a snake here, about 40 years ago. Love seeing wildlife when out and about. Seen a few on holiday in the US when we have been in more remote areas crossing roads and when walking in national parks. Most were rattle snakes. Up here we get adders and smooth snakes but have never seen any.

Good start to the day. It is going to be exciting as I have some shelf brackets, decal paper, fibreglass pencil, cheese, beer and Dutch chocolate being delivered today. No of the things I can get locally unfortunately otherwise I would have.

And it isn't raining but only 8°C!!

Thats a strange list of recipe ingredients, whats the dish called ? 🤔 😁😁

Leonadis chocolate is the best but only when bought in France. The stuff from Belgium isn't as nice. The Tony's stuff is really good, not quite a 1kg box of Leonadis good but…
