Generally you get use to them. Ends up being like white noise.Most aircraft are reasonably quiet and they are not as frequent as they used to be. On a saturday morning it used to be 1 every 90 seconds. First ones are about 06:30 but if there is a strong tail wind from the US you can get some arriving about 90 minutes earlier. They do swap between the two runways so you don't get it all day. When they are taking off and you get something heavy like a 747F they can be quite noisy. Definitely knew when Concorde was landing/taking off!
