but I was also suprised to see a kid on the driver seat (in my normal thinking) on the higway, not nowing he came over from UK...

so let me suggest a porsche carrera 4s for German-Rental, there you can use the tip-tronik on the steering wheel.
then side doesn´t matter and you have a justification for your wife, to spend a bit more money ;-]

By the way the following sign on highways says "welcome to germany we have no general speedlimit" ;-]

The McClaren F1 with central position would be ideal but doesn’t seem to be available as a rental.

I suppose any EV would also not have any gear change, just the on off button.

I could never get in one of those. Or if I did they would have to cut me out. Did get stuck in a McClaren F1 (road car) in London! :D
 
Yes they are tight :) One man also watched how we drive because he was 1,90m tall and about 120kilos :)
