my friend got a similar one, a couple years ago, but it locked his computer.
he would have to pay 300€ in bitcoin to unlock and not to go to jail......

i had to unlock his computer through registry.

Police doesn't warn possible suspects, they knock knock with a closed fist when you least expect.

this scam or pishing mails are really annoying these days. i also get some mails from "my bank" ( some strange emails addy outsite germany and same with the links ) nearly each day because they had changed there security settings and i have to login again to confirm my bank account. :D :D

same from some parcel services who it need to pay a fee or or something or sometimes they have "issues to deliver" ...

when you are fit in computer and internet you can laugh at this morons but when the think a bit more into this problematic and realise how many mails they sending around and how many people don´t realise its a false mail, than you can realise how many people will have a problem with that mails.

The trouble with those sort of emails is that there is that initial shock factor even if it only lasts for a short while that is truly unpleasant and before logic kicks in. Not had anything like that recently fortunately.

What also amazes me is that these emails get through all the spam checks that ISPs do yet despite flagging some email senders as not spam they still get blocked.

People still fall for scams though. My Mum's friend, who was a senior exec at British Airways was asked by her son for £5k for an investment opportunity he saw in an unsolicited email. She lent him the money and he paid the money and they have now both learnt the lesson that it was a scam. And yes, it was my Mum's friend/son and not me. 🙂
