Hello Rich, as soon as Win 7 is installed on your computer, be prepared to be kicked after almost every round of BF2 for "modified content"... and to be falsely accused of "switching to the winning team" by some insolent little brats afterwards. :)

Thanks Lady , that is the worst part of the fresh install ..... getting bf2 to play a again ;)
i have never known any game to be such a pain in the ass to get it to work . kindest regards, rich.

Hopefully it helps if you run it as administrator and with XP/Vista compatibility mode? :p If it don't work then we have only one thing to do: "SAAAAAMMMMM! HELP!?" :p

There is a possibility how to stop the modified game content stuff at least for me...

after you started the game go into your taskmanager and allow your bf2 to use only 2 of 4 threads of you CPU at least this helps for nethertheless i never make it :D cause im tooooo lazy

i think modified gamecontet stuff after loadingcreen is rather that your game loads faster than the server :D

But im not really sure about this its just a thought i had... Cause i had an old crapy windows 7 pc and with that one i never happen

i wish a nice advent to ya all :D

Been using Microsoft AV for a while now and had no problems with it or viruses.

I've tried a few of the "better" AV software packages and found they gave a lot of false positives. Files associated with things like Dropbox were constantly being flagged as threats and so on. Checked all these as they appeared and there were none that were valid threats. Even with paid for AV progs there will always be a chance that they are not up to date enough to capture all threats - like any disease it will take awhile for a cure to be developed.

You can also help yourself of course by being selective as to what sites you visits and where you download files from. Email is probably the biggest threat and most ISPs seem to have good filters to get rid of most spam and associated potential threats.
