Hey guys, today, I rewatched a grand tour episode from the third series...funeral for a ford.

And I just realized I wanna know how many of you had fast fords? Because well...after the tragic death of The Mondeo range... there's not much left of the ST/Cosworth badged Fords...and I just wanna know...

It reminded me of my own Mondeo...which was interesting...it was special ordered from Gent Factory and it was the Diesel ST mark III (without the bodykit)... just the bigger brakes, lower suspension and all around the ST tuning of it's innards, the previous owner also gone out of his way to make it special - 140 kW remap, bigger injectors, 480 Nm Torque. 0-100 km/h took 7.5 seconds.

And here's the thing.
When someone fancy
or spectacular like, say,
Mick Jagger dies, it'll be sad.
But when your mate dies,
that is heart-breaking.
Jeremy Clarkson, Funeral for a Ford

Tragically enough...a few days ago I got the news about my old Mondeo... it got wrecked to an unrecognizable pile of metal... but the driver and passenger were still able to get out of the car with just a few bruises...

That's my old mate, protecting his fellows till the very last breath...

Budiž mu lehká zem.
I feel bad for you mate. My unce had a simillar one loving and hating it at the same time, but the car always seemend strong and safe for me. I have this kind of special relationship with my first car - old Audi80, which I left here behind the corner and I still own her. Repairs would not be worth it, but I just can't let her go.

Mk1 Escort, Twin Webbers, K&N Filters (of course), bored out block, dry sumped (oil filter and tank in the boot), quick shift gear box, full roll cage, plumbed-in fire extinguishers, Cibies fogs and spots (with the spots on you could see traffic signs a mile away). Insurance company laughed at me! Could only get special insurance for events and going to/from them.

Had two Mondeos, one did 180k miles (289k km) and 140k miles (225k km).

We currently have a Ford C-Max, 1.6 turbo so 150HP. Nothing super special but as someone who's only had their license for just over a year, its a lot more fun to drive than my mums Aygo with 68HP :ROFLMAO:

It was a similar love/hate relationship with mine... because of the remap the first start of the day was like a Tatra... lots of smoke and fumes... banging and clattering...but then it would just...sod off...

In a comfy manner.
