As always, we see a hard-working laka here, meaning his ogre feet. :ROFLMAO:
Ogre is too strong. The only positive point is that it isn't white socks and sandals.

New sourdough starter. Old one was a year old and not as active as it should have been also had gone quite acidic. Have done a white loaf with this starter but this is the first rye spelt/wholemeal loaf. Starter seems OK. I will add a post oven pic in about 50 minutes! πŸ˜‹ Just in time for coffee and toast!

"Our" blackbird has already nested and produced young! Must have been quick off the mark this year as though it has been and still is quite cold we have not had much long lasting snow or bad weather. Actually had him, the female and one of the young on the window sill the other day but no picture ☹️

Got three of these small pots for Β£1. They polish up OK. Left is the before!

Say hello to Mr (or is it Mrs?) Owl.
Substitute for a garden gnome? I hear you say but no, this pretty polymer fowl is on a mission - to keep blackbirds from bulldozing the flowerbeds with its effective beak (at 500 Hz). It’s doing a terrific job and rarely complains.

Need to get a picture of the one our neighbours has. Theirs has no effect on birds at all! Could due to looking like a kid painted it. Blackbirds to forage like a kid searching for a particular toy in a toy box with everything going everywhere!

Todays mission is to see if I can get a decent picture of the robin and maybe some other garden birds.

does sound thing really works to ward birds off? Also what is that yellow reddish small bush on the left of it, looks pretty

We went on a field trip today! It was really fine spring weather, and nature all green. We went to a nearby town with an abandoned park that is now almost forest. We found an old japaneese red maple growing there with bunch of first year baby red maples from seeds. We saved 5 from trimmers! <3

@Riot_co Wife says that the bush is a variety of spiraea japonica, not known exactly which sub-variety as we bought it a number of years ago. Here’s a better pic:

And yes, it’s gorgeous πŸ™‚

You can tell from the look of the lawn that we haven’t had rain for a month but the rhubarb doesn’t care πŸ˜€ On the right are some bluberry bushes and on the left redcurrant. Making pie (i.e. my wife if I have behaved) from either of these πŸ˜‹πŸ˜ƒ
