Went here today. Not for rugby. There was a model show there and I may have bought a couple of things.😁

Hadn’t intended to buy anything but the prices were bargains - wife was there and she encouraged me. It is the tiny kit though that really caught my eye.

Please remind me never to go shopping on a Saturday again.

Weird sort of day. BF seems to still have a few ranty folk about today but a few rounds were quite fun.

Did make the EOD kit today though as an aside. Obviously it takes a long time to paint 😆 Still need to do some painting and weathering work on it but construction is complete. The pound coin (about the same size as a Euro) shows how small it is! Think it was about 24 parts and the main arm is made up of 10 pieces.

Also nearly finished the second of the cheap tank kits. Just painting of the tracks to do.

Funny couple of days. Wife was sorting out loads of stuff so it was best to stay out of the way and just supply her with tea and me with coffee. The EOD kit looks rather good but still needs the paint tarted up a bit more. The little tank had an awful gun barrel so I snipped it off and added a copper tube one to it. The barrel is the same length as the original but looks a bit too long.

Update: Just had a look at photos of the T-62A and the barrel does actually look that long!

I have two questions:

I have searched but have never found an EU equivalent to ActivOn. Even searching on active ingredients hasn’t shown anything. Anyone seen anything like this or know anything that may be worth trying. I have tried Voltarol and similar stuff without any luck.

The handcuffs, are these suitable as a Christmas present for the wife or is it more birthday/anniversary? 😁

Ähm I may do not get the joke for first question, even in combination with second picture ?

But how about to ask your doctor?
Also you can click "other customers buy"
So maybee it´s an option, not to search for ingredience, more to describe what it schould be good for?
If google do not help, search on pharmacy online shops, or ask direct there?
If I check what you want to buy, one is wound treatment, voltarol or voltaren is more for muscle pain e.g.

About pic 2, it depends when your yearly meeting date is, to go upstairs.
As well married person, it´s also an option to do it twice this year "on your decision" -nasty- lol...

ActivOn is great for my arthritis. Doesn’t stop the pain but reduces it from 10 down to 6 so pain is tolerable. Trouble is that ActivOn has been discontinued but I cannot find out why. I have looked at what others buy and done a lot of searching but most results just go to things like Voltarol (which I have tried but found did nothing for me).

Have been using naproxen, which does help take the edge off but still doesn’t make things tolerable. Am seeing the Doc later this week to see if there is anything else. I am also due to see physio soon - though judging by the bruising the a neighbour got after their visit to physio I may need the handcuffs to restrain them. 😬

Was just wondering if anyone else had tried anything different. I have tried Chinese remedies but those also didn’t do much at all.

I have no experience, with a desease like that.
Sometimes when I have shoulder pain from wanking^^, I use creams like Voltaren or Kytta, also sometimes Wala Aconit Oil is helpful.
Depends on, its better to warm up, or to cool down...

Damn were gettin old, we begin to talk about deseases and have less interest in tits.

Heard about an other idea, see picture below... ^^

Have been trying Biofreeze for the last couple of days/nights. Overnight it is quite good so far and has made sleep more comfortable. During the day the effect is less noticeable. Weather does make a difference too.

Not looked into your other suggestion. Last tried that 43 years ago! Probably didn’t inhale properly so didn’t really notice anything. Maybe muffins and brownies the way to go. Not sure what the legal side of things are.

Today’s view is me trying to normal things and my body going 🤣

right smoking is unhealthy, eat that shit ^^

but same here, more foodporn then drinks....

as sayed before grumpy old noobs ;-}

As the Tiger 2 model has a lot of detail I thought rather than use the plastic treads that it comes with I would get some metal ones. Most of the ones I have seen come with a couple of pieces that you put a pin or bit of wire through. Ordered some and these are what you get. Each track is 5 pieces not including the wire to hold them together! 4 tracks has taken 90 minutes. Only 105 to go!

Quite like tanks as you don’t have to get a perfect paint finish like you do with cars. Still practicing gloss painting with airbrush so may be a little while before tackling one.

So far this has taken me about 4 hours to do and there is roughly another 1/3rd to do! And another track for the other side. I wasn’t going to bet these initially but the feel and look is great and they should rest on the tank just right. Once they are weathered a bit I am sure it will be worth it. 😄

Been working on the Mosquio model. Mainly cockpit and bomb bay so far but now including some of the fuselage. Filling and sanding the joins. Also packing for an extended stay at my Mums as she is getting a hip replaced next week. Not sure how long we will be down there but three weeks seems likely but could be longer. So no BF game time when we are down there. 😞 It is a bit sad when you are jealous of your mum getting a new hip! 😁

My wife did suggest taking some model stuff with me but it is surprising how much crap I have accumulated in a relatively short time. Will take the tank tracks to do though as they take so long to do with so many tiny parts.

dont know how the health insurance in UK is? have you pay anything for this kind of surgeries from your own??

You will be glad you asked that question now!!! 🤣😂😃

NHS covers the cost of the operation and ip here in Scotland we get free prescriptions too. That is why Trump/BoJo want a no deal Brexit as there are huge amounts of money to be made there. A £10 prescription could become a £500 prescription. How many people could afford that? Probably why they have been stockpiling body bags.

You can have additional health insurance if you want and often is included as part of your salary. This may give you the opportunity to jump the queue by halving it done in a private hospital. My mum looked into getting it done privately and it would have been at least £12,000 depending on recovery time. So for me, I would need 2 hips and 2 knees which would be in the region of £50k!

My mum’s hip (and her age) has meant that she finds it very hard to walk. She fell in the garden and whilst she didn’t break her hip it was damaged. That lack of walking meant her leg was infected so the surgeon said they wouldn’t operate. Doctor said just put cream on it so there was a bit of a conflict. Mum then paid £450 for a private consultation and that doctor said it wasn’t infected but just swollen due to inactivity and the operation should be done.

Then they didn’t want to do it because of my Mum’s heart failure issue in 2016. This was news to her! So eventually they have agreed to do the operation but have declared her to be high risk so she has had to sign a lot of waivers for it to go ahead in case she croaks on the operation table.

For me, the replacement knee was always you are too young as it will wear out and replacement of a replaced knee isn’t a good idea. However, they are now lasting a lot longer so that isn’t an issue. They would probably last the rest of my life. With the hip it is now a case of you are too fat. That I know. But I cannot walk that far because of the pain. The other day it really did take me 30 minutes to walk 300 metre. So it isn’t like I can go and walk a few km to help lose weight. I have lost 6kg in the last 2 months though but it will be quite a while before I reach my ideal weight!

Currently I am on a near maximum dose of naproxen which to be honest not sure if it is doing anything, I also use some creams which do a little bit of help and also a TENS machine. The other day I had the TENS set to 11 and it was painful!! The combination of those makes it tolerable. Sometimes it can be OK and I can do stuff and other times each step is a challenge. The advantage of the TENS machine is that with all the pulsing from it my butt should be really nicely toned! 😆

This sounds like a sob story but I didn’t mean it to be that. The NHS is really good especially for emergencies but there are often queues for surgery. I think they do use excuses to avoid operations. I think if I had been able to get my knee done sooner I wouldn’t have been where I am now as walking would be easier and would help with general fitness.

holy crap i need 3 days off from work to read all that :D

seriously...that is hard to understand as a german. we are having a 100% covering of all midical issues. ok, we have to pay 14,6% ( 7,3% paying from the employer / 7,3% employee ) of our bruttoincome. but with that you have nothing to pay anymore. ok a prescription fee between 5.- and 10.- €. so if you have a bad knee or hip you can choose a doc or hospital for a thorough medical examination to see what the docs meant what had to be done. even with there opinion you can go to a other doc/hospital te get a other medical opinion of your problem.
when you have a result you can decide what you will do and where you will be doing the surgery. than you need to get a appointment in the hospital of your choise and...done.
not to forget that you get a full payment in the first 6 weeks of your illness. after 6 weeks you get a lower payment from your medical insurance.

so it looks a lot esier and above all, less expensive.

Sorry, this ended up being longer that expected again. Short version is NHS sounds similar, hip pain hurts and and my mum is a racist! 😳

I think a lot of it is a similar system. When working we pay a National Insurance from salaries that goes towards NHS, unemployment benefits and so on. (That is the way I understand it). Sick pay there is a minimum payment but where I worked you got 6 months on full pay and then it reduced somewhat.

The NHS here is underfunded but I think there is also a lot of waste in it by having too many managerial levels. I have a cousin who is a vice deputy assistant something or other. It probably needs some German efficiency injected in to it. When we moved up here the doctor we had would give you a prescription that wouldn’t do anything so you went back to get the good stuff. In the end we would make an appointment fot the other doctor in the surgery who gave you the good stuff straight away!

The arthritis in my knee could have been sorted by a replacement done a while ago. I think it was first diagnosed about 15 years ago. That would have helped me be more mobile then which would have been healthier in the long run. However, the pain does limit what you can do. Normal, routine activities become a pain avoidance task but you still have to do them. But walking for exercise does drop off the to do list when it hurts a lot! I guess the compensating for my left knee too it’s toll on my right hip (though my left on is worse apparently but is less painful). From getting some hip pain to becoming alarmingly painful has been about 2 months.

“When you are young you don’t realise how things will affect you in the future. A few kg extra weight is probably OK but more than that should really be dropped if you can.” - Advice from an old decrepit fart! 🤓

A lot of the Brexit misinformation was based on the NHS getting the money that we ‘spend’ on the EU. My mum fell for it and become openly racist. That has really been annoying me. She kept saying she wanted to see an English doctor. After a lot of pushing she really meant she wanted to see an English white doctor. A person with a different skin colour but born in the UK wasn’t English. That really did shock me as I was never raised like that. It is funny how racists don’t like being called racist. 🤨
