Set up a temporary security cam in the garden as something was digging holes all over the place. Clumps of turf lifted and in the flower bed a big channel was dug. Not a squirrel as the holes are far to big. Not a cat as there were just far too many. Suspect it may be a badger. Not had a badger in the garden for a five or six years.

Neighbour looking for your treasure?

I wish. Camera spotted Noname walking across the garden and a couple of moths but that was it. Will try again tonight. The squirrel did break the mortar though as it kept on jumping on it. Treasure? We have treasure? The only stuff we find when digging is crap from when they made the house. I suppose there is a chance of finding something Roman as the Antonine wall was only about 1km away and the Battle of Falkirk wasn't far away too so there could be that sort of stuff.

Heard a scream from my wife and then two more, concluded that my services were needed. Arriving at the scene, at the glass door to the garden, the missus screamed ”there’s a snake just outside here!!!” Sure enough, a cute grass snake had paid us a visit (we haven’t seen a snake here during the almost 26 yrs we’ve lived here) and I was ordered to gently relocate the beast to a forest nearby. Mr/Mrs snake was not delighted when I cought it and put it in a black plastic bag and looked angry and hissed. 10 minutes later it was shown it’s new home but seemed shocked and didn’t move. Visited the site a few hours later and no snake in sight - happy ending hopefully.

Some pictures from the first day of Rotterdam, my camera has more but too lazy now to offload them.

FYI the navy vessel is called, Zijne Majesteit Friesland, and is a fregat.
The other large boat is the SS Rotterdam, an oldy used to pendle between Rotterdam and New York

Love that picture above!

Cut the grass today and also fed it. The grass food was meant to make it look healthier but some of it has already started to look not so good - probably because there is little grass there?

Our garden isn't that big. Guessing about 20x20m at the back and about 20x5m at the front. Managed to do 1.5km with the lawnmower and walking up and down with the feeding stuff.

Why isn't lawn mowing an activity?
