Was in a woodworky creative mood today. Mainly a saw, plywood and glue and some practice using the saw track I made.

I wasn't going to go there but may have looked in the mirror and thought about posting that picture. Couldn't afford all the therapy costs that would have come my way though. :)

well atleast woodworking has no danger of almost getting hit by 1.3kV and 5.6A aluminum cable... :D It did give a massive bang when it hit a pole tho... so that was cool.

You should open shop Glen with the skills and energy you have (y);)
I would definitely order a custom made desk for my pc from him :D With all the fancy stuff for cable management and space for a triple monitor setup!

🤣

Before you place your order…

The thing I have been playing with was to make some coasters. The construction of the block was OK but you then have to cut slices off. My mitre saw just wasn’t big enough to do it. That meant having to do two deep passes with the circular saw by hand and getting those accurate wasn’t possible. Then had to sand them to remove the saw marks. When trimming the mitre saw was also shown to be lacking (it was fine about 20 tears ago). So these are far from perfect but have been a good learning experience. I still have a block that I should be able to get about 8 to 10 more coasters off once I get a suitable saw. Did try manually sawing but I think I would still be doing the first one in about 5 weeks!

If I was going to do something like a desk then there would need to be a few equipment purchases.

  1. Track saw
  2. Domino cutter
  3. Compound Mitre saw
  4. Jigsaw
  5. Dust extractor
So just about £3000 of tools! 😁

Sheffield isn’t the prettiest of places. And the hotel wifi sucks like a 1500 watt Vax vacuum.

Food and beer was rather good. Breakfast is a buffet - I may overindulge. 😁

not the best view from Holiday Inn Express in Sheffield. (y) :giggle:But quite nice reviews. you are looking at the sheffield metropolition hotel what is a lot cheaper but also looking good.

did i need to say that i am bored and having a bit time and stalking you ;)

Will have a few of these later. We got a good deal on the hotel £42 per night plus some free drinks.😀 The breakfast is not bad too. Help yourself and you can make rolls to go (for lunch).

Trip planned for tomorrow with the whole family to this gorgeous place (an island) about 45 min from where we live. Then back with boat for dinner at "Swenson's" - :)
