Started off by getting some bread on, then produced a batch of beer and whilst that was cooking and boiling made some crab ravioli. Then spent quite a bit of time cleaning the kitchen!
Ravioli isn't quite as well finished as I would like. Still trying to find the right recipe for me. This one was 250gms flour, three eggs, a little olive oil and a pinch of salt. Wife said she prefers home made pasta to even the more expensive shop bought ravioli. For tagliatelle, spaghetti, ravioli and lasagne it is worth having a go at making your own. You don't need a pasta machine but it does help to get silky smooth fine pasta. Rolling the dough out can be done using a pin but getting an even, thin pasta is quite hard. For strip pasta it should be fine to try.
Beer looks and smells OK though a little darker than I expected (may need to reduce or leave out the caramel malt in the next batch) though there is still quite a bit of suspended solids at the moment (yeast and hop particles). Once the fermentation gets going it will start to clear and settle.
So quite a productive day!
