Talking about electric cars, I've got no experience except this one... I got hit by electric Peugeot in IKEA garage. :D As Im used to hear the car engines, I didn't hear this one, was not looking around and stepped into it's way. Not a hard hit, just very small one. Funny accident, but could have been dangerous.

Before corona we had a "green future" thingie festival in cologne where they cleared a big street of cars. But for showing "future technologies" you could test electric cars and I had to pass that road to get home.

I learned that A: Electric cars are also loud when driving fast because a lot of the sound is coming from the tires on the ground and not from the engine also on regular cars B: in big cities they are also threatening, loud and need as much space for everybody else.

I want to see less cars in cities. Maybe only for delivery and people that cannot walk.

This won't work - people just do want to get anywhere by car. If you block traffic, people will leave and that's how you end up with empty downtowns like here in Cz.

"bigger persons or big old wrecked knee dinos like glen must be cars there. small cars, with higher entrance, wider doors" - I may have peed myself laughing at this though I should have been annoyed! :) Having a disabled badge is useful just for opening the doors fully rather than spaces being nearer to where I want to be.

I would use public transport but it is shite. The actual busses and trains are fine but the infrastructure isn't great to get from home to Edinburgh (about 25 miles /30km) I have a few options.

Train:
I would have difficulty walking to the bus stop - about 750m. Not impossible but would be a bit of a struggle. The bus stop is another 500m from the station. Trains are every 15 minutes normally. From the station Princes street is about 400m. Not too bad except the buses only run every 2 hours so not exactly convenient.

Bus:
As above except that I can connect directly with the bus to Edinburgh. Express bus :ROFLMAO: takes about 90 minutes. The normal bus 150 minutes!! So to go from home to Edinburgh by bus would take about 3 hours!

By car it takes about 40 minutes and cost less than the train.

same here. i am always getting mad when i need to go to a company meeting to hamburg and this happend a few times a year. i have 3 options.

1. Plane:
not expensive with around 150.- €. BUT i have to drive with my car to the next airport. what means, to drive 1,5-2 hours extra. just the flight is around a hour but all the time, for early arrival, taxi to company and so on i need nearly 6 hours for the trip. moneywise its 150.- € for the flight, plus taxi and parking at the airport so together just around 220.- €.

2. train:
also nearly the same price as the flight with around 120.- €. plus plus taxi, so also around 160.- €. time is around 6 hours, so also nearly equal with the flight.

3. car
around 550km so its also around 6 hours driving, but normaly 1 hour more because of traffic jam. so lets say 7 hours. fuel costs would be around 60.- €. thats less then half as the other options.

can be surprised when still everyone is using the car.

This is my old girl, after so many years of driving pleasure, it is now destined to go, but it is staying in the family and going to my grandson who has been waiting for me to die so that he could have it 😂 😂.
It has always been reliable, slick, great condition and rather quick, and will only produce black smoke when flat out (like they say there is no poke without smoke) BUT it is diesel and local government want to charge
me £12.50/Euro14.27 for everyday I drive it in London 🖕🖕.
So started looking around at Ford fiestas ST 1.5 Ecoboost 144mph , then looked at some Vauxhall/Opel corsa VXR , then moved on to Astra 2.0L VXR 155mph and wife liked them(y). She then checks insurance cost (£800.00 year) "We are not paying that for a car (n). So reached a compromise, staying with an Astra and bought a real beauty exactly 2 years old, hardly used with 3700 miles from new that belonged to an old boy who has been disqualified from driving for 3 years :giggle:. It is a 1.6L Astra Elite 146mph with everything fitted as standard, including heated leather seats and heated steering wheel o_O, its got everything you can think of and the best bit is its performance, better than the ST, the VXR corsa (not the VXR Astra by 9mph) but it is discreet and luxurious. Not got it yet as it is on its way up from Southampton but here are some pics.

Nice ride, Riz! You gonna have some fun behind that wheel :)

Cars are fucked from now on, even Vauxhall/Opel started just making these super efficient 1.0L and 1.2L and nothing bigger, WTF I want a car not a pram or a shopping trolley, I like a bit of speed, always have.
The government here some time back were all pushing for diesel cars, more eco friendly blah blah, so I got one, now they are saying diesel is no longer eco friendly .
All this has nothing to do with the planet but its all politics. Can you imagine the pollution from lithium mining and disposal ? and if everyone has an electric car on charge over night, the grid cant cope ?
These white collars just piss me off always trying to invent new ways to take your money. If you cant afford a new car fuck off on the bus or get a pedal bike or we'll tax you for every penny you got, while they are all
driving/being driven in big engined Jags and us poor fuckers are paying that 🖕
Rant Over 😂😂

I'd rant with you - actually even when Euro 6 came out it was bad... now with the emissions limit Euro 7 cars are pretty much fucked.

nice and it looks even old camper like to drive fast cars lol how pathetic hihi

Cars are such a personal thing for something that is used to get from A to B. We used to do the 420 mile trip to London quite often so the main criteria was something comfortable and with enough space for plenty of beer and cheese on the way home. My dream cars, given that money was no object...

Original Audi Quattro
Focus RS
Jaguar F-Type R

Not saying I wouldn't mind an M5, or an F250 or a whole load of others but these ones I probably would bother to wash and keep clean. 😆 A WRX would be another I wouldn't mind. I wouldn't mind a luxury saloon.

A few others I would like if I was contacted by that Nigerian Prince again are (not saying they are good cars, just that I would make garage space for them):

Lotus Sunbeam
Chevette HSR
Manta 400
Escort 1800
Delta Integrale

Might also be a theme going on here.

Yes Hippy the earthquake on wheels:).
A mate had a 3.0L capri, then the Jensen and then a TR7. I drove them all, the TR7 was really really shit :ROFLMAO:

Just removed the pics (will not be my car). Got a call from the dealers, owner not selling, giving/selling to brother ??? Thought it belonged to the dealership, apparently not. It all sounds a bit fishy to me.
You know all car salesmen are iffy (inffy😂) I think they are looking for a better deal ??.....BUT....
Found another one exactly the same with even less mileage different colour + a bit more cash ☺️. No pictures until my arse is sitting in drivers seat, I dont want to jinx this one too 😅
