Heya guys, how's it going?
As my aunt likes to say ''hello Andrej, how are you and your family? are there any tomato and paprika, leave some for us, I'll come in August.''
Anyways, back to the topic,
Yesterday evening I was parked in a open free parking, my car was parked by a Mercedes e class, dunno the year, probably 2012 or something about that age, that model, and suddenly police was by my table asking is the black audi yours, I was like, is it dirty? if yes, aha that's mine hahaha, so they told me that I should go with them to check my car, I was like wtf guys I'm watching a game rn....and yea, I came there and I see the mercedes isn't there, and they told me if I can see anything on my car which could lead to the info that they tried to rob my car, I didn't see any marks nor scratches but my blinkers were working which means my alarm turned on. And then they told me that the mercedes parked right next to me has been stolen in the past 15minutes. I couldn't believe it...
Soooooo, I wanted to ask you guys, beside talking too much, I apologize to that, I currently have the electronic blocking thing from driving the car away or whatsoever and the alarm which actually means nothing to the robbers...do you have any authentic ways of protection? Also the robbers can easily stole any car ( here's a store with used car parts, they destroyed a A6 C7 built in 2016, for parts, which was for sure stolen somewhere in Germany, Austria etc.), there's no normal human being who will cut the brand new car in parts....
So yea, also seems like zeder and companies like that, aren't secure anymore, so is there any other way to protect myself in open spaces? Beside pulling out the whole engine so they can't drive away with it....

oh...ok, as you know all this electronic anti highjacker or alarm stuff is no big deal for a car robber. normaly they getting your car in seconds.

the best, oldschool tool is that. its ugly and unhandy but its the best way to protect your car because this thing is not only annoying you when you install it everytime. it also piss off the thieves

Thanks laka, I'll have to order it, cuz here all of those are like out of some material which quality is equal to paper :v
I guess I'll have to make sure to give away some more minutes when entering and exiting the car to put the thing on/off

well if you live in a quiet neighbourhood, just hook up a fog horn to the alarm and that should wake up anyone close by. Also link it to the separate system so it doesnt go out when someone tries to cut the wires from the alarm system :D

Yea, I don't have issue when the car is at home, it's in a locked garage, so till the guy gets it, he'll wake me up for sure due to bad isolation between my room and garage hahah :D My biggest fear is when I'm somewhere on a open space, didn't really care much about it, till this happened :v

Though the steering wheel thingy is a bit old fashioned it is something that makes the job harder or noisier. Anything that make it harder will make them look for another car. It may be inconvenient for you but you get to keep your car.

Also might be worth asking your insurer if they give discounts on wheel locks, they still offer that in the UK.

I believe they are seen as active deterrents still.

They may only support certain models though, so it's worth asking before you buy.

We had one on our old camper and it gave us a percentage reduction in insurance costs.

Since it's my first car I'm paying 100% insurance with no additional bonuses ..sadly after calling my insurance company here (which is Vienna Insurance Group), the lady told me that there's no option about those stuff and that I'm buying it on my own. Well everything is bad here lol

I remeber getting insurance for one car, a Mk1 Ford Escort when I was about 18. When they said has it had any modifications?

Er, it has a 1600cc bored out to 1800cc.
Oh, and the engine has been dry-sumped.
And it has twin Weber 40 carbs.
And a quick shift gearbox.
And a quick steering rack.
And a roll cage.
And Cibie fog and driving lamps.
But it has twin fire extinguishers.

All the time I could hear the sound of kerching as it got more and more expensive.

Cost £600 for third party fire and theft. That would be about £3,500 today!!!!!!

You could just use the @lakaelo method and strap C4 with a mobile phone to your car.

*waits for the security services to come running*

It is the waiting till your friends are nearby and detonating it that is the issue - only single use per car.

Or....

Auto Taser
