That seems to be a fair point, if it didn't have Battlefield in the name I would probably have a different view of it. I had a quick play of BFV yesterday as I hadn't played it for ages. Joined the game, saw a plane coming towards me and managed to shoot the pilot! Played on a couple of newer maps and it wasn't too bad. But it didn't really feel like a Battlefield experience. In another round one pilot was racking up kills, including me, even when in a forest. Other kills just felt a bit off, always headshots and appeared to be through scenery. Though the graphics were not set high when playing BFV it did run OK.
If the hadn't said all the back to basics stuff then expectations wouldn't have been so high. If they had taken BF4, added some of the BF1 and BFV maps, got rid of known bugs and maybe even done some work on the graphics many people would have been happy. But with the price of new hardware which many players will need they have probably lost a lot of the core players.
