It wouldn't be Llamas on tour without a visit to a castle. This was done on the way down to my Mum. Kenilworth Castle is south east of Birmingham and building started aroun 1120 and has been added to since then but there is a lot of Tudor influences in some of the buildings. it is now maintained by English Heritage.

When we got there it was about 2°C but the wind chill made it feel more like -5°C!

Being a devoted admirer of Shakespeare’s masterpieces, it was exciting for me to go and see many beautiful sites in and around Stratford-upon-Avon many years ago.
Thus, we visited nearby Kenilworth Castle as well - once a majestic stronghold, nowadays an enchanting place steeped in history.

Thank you, Glen, for conjuring up these lovely memories. :)
