With your drone you can do this ?

I'm mainly looking for a stable platform for photos or video. So the ones I'm looking at are more stable than agile. The tech in these racers are really impressive - you need a live TV feed that has no lag plus the control of the copter and all that for relatively small amount of money. For a racer and an FPV kit it is less than £1000. I'm not saying £1000 isn't a lot but for the tech you get compared to what it would cost a few or even a year ago....

The one I'm considering is about £340 for copter and radio.

DJI E300 F450 Flamewheel w/Naza M V2 & GPS Package

These seem to be really popular at the moment
You need to turn your youtube quality up as far as it goes me thats 1080p but if you have 4K then whoop whoop
This is a 4K drone amazing and you wanna see there top models

video from this is the best really

Recently bought a 55" Sony 4k 3D smart tv that my wife drew my attention to in a local shopping center. I was amazed at the 4k picture of wild life and a football game where I could see individual blades of grass on the pitch. They had a memory stick plugged in the usb socket in the back playing this 4k stuff. When it arrived it took me 3 days to configure the thing and then found out that nobody is transmitting in 4k yet so all Im getting is 1080 WTF.......lol

well drones are fine but very danger for Aircrafts near Airfields, the most not know that they need a clearance to fly with it.

Totally agree. Main rules here are that they are flown within sight of operator and not within 50m of people and buildings and there is a height restriction that I can't remember at the moment. Like most things there are always people that do stupid things with them. You only have to look on YouTube to see people flying them in streets and other places that are clearly against the rules. Like most things, a few stupid people ruin things for the rest of us who follow rules and are sensible.

For me, building the thing would be fun and using it to get scenery shots or video in some of the more remote areas around Scotland. I would need a quad that would be stable and I would also want it to have GPS so that it could have some autonomous operation should control be lost.

I think 4K does look stunning and looks so much better than 3D. Netflix is supposed to be doing some 4K output soon. The main problem, like you say, is the lack of source material to view. Over the air 4K is likely to be compressed so much that you are not going to get the full benefit of the panel. Download seems to be the obvious route for content as I suspect most broadband connections wouldn't be able to keep up with the stream without buffering. Like most new formats it will mean buying existing films in the new format when UHD blurays become available.

What surprises me is that you cannot just get a big monitor or panel only instead of getting all the TV stuff inside too. I only ever use our "TV" as a monitor as sound always goes through the surround system. I know that the tuner and stuff doesn't cost that much but if you don't need it then it must be environmentalally better to not include it. Most "smart" TV user interfaces are awful and never get updated after a year or so and therefore never keep up with what has changed.

AW: Re: GoPro stuff

well next Problem GoPro are very fast out of accu at 4k mode

After a busy month covering for other photogs I've not really had much enthusiasm for going out with a camera for fun. However, seen the Kelpies lit up from the inside when passing by so though I would have a walk and get a few photos. From the ones I took this morning I got a few that looked interesting. In the link below they are the four darker ones. These were taken with the GoPro on the 12mp wide setting and then "tweaked" in Lightroom, Photoshop and Topaz filters. Also took some 4K video which I'll try and upload somewhere for Andy!

Here is the link for the 4K video. Nothing special about this as it was just a test. Go Pro 3+ records at 15 frames per sec so even when slow panning it looks a bit juddery. Not having a 4K monitor I'll need someone else (Andy) to see what the quality is like.

Re: AW: GoPro stuff

Are you meaning which setting on the GoPro? For most things the 7mb setting should be a good compromise between quality and space even for time lapse and general photos. 5mp quality isn't bad if you want to use as little space as possible but for me it loses a little in general detail but I haven't used it much. I'll have a play with some time lapse stuff with 5mp as it should be more than OK for a 1080p video. Ultimately it will depend on what you are going to do with the images. If they are just for on-screen viewing then lots of details isn't always required. Having a larger mp image means there is more room to play with and abuse the pixels if you need to or if you want to crop the image you will still have a decent amount of detail to play with afterwards.

For the car pics I do, I start with a 12mp RAW file which gives me a lot of room to crop the image. The only other stuff I do on them is to crop them to 4:3, adjust exposure slightly and then export to a file size of 500kb max. If it is raining then there is some spot removal for interior flash shots. The final images are fine for web based sites which is where most of them end up.
